    City Mission – Community Assistance and Program

    Can help families and individuals living in the North-West who are experiencing financial problems. Basic food packages, advocacy and electricity bills, phone bills, emergency fuel and transport needs.

    City Kitchen Wynyard

    Offers a safe, friendly, warm and inviting place for anyone in need of food and friendship and living in Burnie and Wynyard area. Breakfast is available for a gold coin donation and a 2 or 3 course lunch is available for $3. Tuesday: 12-2pm Wednesday: 9am – 2pm

    Vinnies Van

    A free mobile service that provides those experiencing or are at risk of homelessness, marginalisation and social isolation with meals, Information and referrals, support, compassion and friendly face.

    Needle and Syringe Program (NSP)

    Farm It Forward Tasmania

    A volunteer organisation that aims to grow edible produce and social connections by linking land holders with gardeners.  Produce is shared with those involved and community relief organisations. Garden education and assistance also provided.

    Lobster Ponds Haven

    Volunteers assist with the operation of the ponds, home to Northern Tasmania’s fresh water crayfish. Opportunities to lead tours or cater in the cafe.

    Cancer Council – Transport2Treatment

    Clients must have a referral through their clinical treatment team to access transport. A no cost service to support people facing hardship in getting to/from cancer treatment appointments.

    Affordable door-to-door community transport for the over 65s and people with a disability.  Must qualify for transport though My Aged Care or be able to access disability transport support. Volunteer drivers also needed.
