Volunteer at the Wynyard Tulip Festival 2026

The Wynyard Tulip Festival will be held on Saturday, 10 October 2026 from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm.

Volunteers play an important role in helping us deliver a safe, welcoming and enjoyable festival for the community and visitors.

Volunteer opportunities may include event setup and pack-down, visitor assistance, surveys, site monitoring, shuttle bus support, waste education, accessibility support and other general event duties.

You can let us know which roles interest you, when you are available, how long you would like to volunteer for, and any requirements or preferences we should consider. We will use this information to help allocate suitable roles and shifts.

You will not be required to undertake any task you do not feel comfortable or able to complete safely. Volunteers will receive relevant information, guidance and induction before commencing their role.

Volunteers may be required to attend a short induction before their shift. This will cover key safety information, site arrangements, emergency procedures, volunteer responsibilities and role-specific instructions.

Terms and Conditions

Volunteers are expected to carry out tasks with reasonable care, skill and diligence, only undertake duties they are competent to perform, and follow reasonable instructions from event organisers in accordance with Council policies and procedures. Volunteers must also comply with relevant work health and safety requirements, including established practices, procedures and instructions applicable to their duties.

Waratah-Wynyard Council holds insurance policies that may provide cover for volunteers who suffer injury, loss or cause damage while undertaking authorised Council activities. Any claims received are assessed by Council and, where required, referred to Council’s insurers for independent assessment.

Photography and video may be taken during the Wynyard Tulip Festival for Council communication, promotion and documentation purposes. Council may not be able to prevent volunteers from appearing incidentally in wide-angle or general crowd imagery taken at a public event.
