Senior Design Engineer

About the Role

This key leadership role is responsible for guiding the delivery of Council’s capital works and operational programs, managing design resources, and providing high-level technical advice across a broad range of infrastructure projects.

You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining essential community assets including roads, stormwater systems, and bridges, while mentoring staff and ensuring the effective delivery of engineering services. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with strong leadership, project management, and technical expertise to make a lasting impact within a progressive local government environment.

This is a permanent full-time position working 76 hours over a 9-day fortnight.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
• Extensive knowledge of contract management and infrastructure delivery.
• A current driver licence.
