If your dog has wandered away from home and has been collected by Council, then it will be returned provided it is currently registered, the owner is contactable, or someone is home to secure the dog.
All unregistered dogs or instances where the owner is not contactable/no-one is at home, then the dog will be secured at the Dogs Home of Tasmania, Stowport Road, Stowport. Any outstanding registration/impounding fees must be paid before their release. Dogs Home of Tasmania can be contacted on 03 6431 6199.
