As 2025 comes to a close, Mayor Mary Duniam and CEO Vanessa Adams would like to celebrate some of the achievements across our municipality this year.
We start with a fantastic milestone for both our region and our state β Council took out first place at the 2025 Australasian Management Challenge, a first for Tasmania! This achievement reflects our commitment to being a forward-thinking and innovative Council for our community.
The Tulip Festival, always a favourite, kept us on our toes with heavy rain and strong winds this year. But thanks to the hard work of our staff and community, it was another fantastic success.
Other notable achievements for our municipality include:
- Commencing the Inglis River Track upgrade
- Completion of key projects from the East Wynyard Foreshore Masterplan, including the already-popular Sensory Garden
- Completion of the new Sisters Beach playground and outdoor gym equipment
- Adoption of the Waratah Community Plan β¦ and much more!
While we take a moment to celebrate these successes, weβre already looking ahead to 2026 and the new plans that will keep our municipality on track for continued growth and success.
We wish everyone in our community a happy and safe holiday season!
Reminder: Council offices will be closed from 2pm, 22 December 2025, and will reopen at 8.30am on Monday 5 January 2026.
