Roadside Slashing Program Underway

Roadside Slashing Program Underway

Our annual roadside slashing program is well underway across the municipality, with crews slashing grass, weeds and low-level vegetation along Council-managed roads to improve sight lines and support fire preparedness.

Our works team is set to slash a total of 469 kilometres of roadside. The program began in November and is estimated to be completed by May, subject to weather conditions.

As crews operate throughout the municipality, we kindly ask motorists to slow down, obey all signage, exercise caution when passing machinery, and a friendly wave is always welcome ๐Ÿ‘‹

๐Ÿ“ Locations our crews are working towards: Sisters Beach, Meunna, Preolenna, Lapoinya, Calder, Oldina, Mount Hicks, Elliott, Takone and Waratah.

This program forms part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining safe, functional and environmentally responsible roads. Roadside vegetation grows quickly during the spring and summer period, and we thank the community for their patience as the program progresses.
