Local Government elections are held every four years to determine the representatives for Waratah-Wynyard Council.

Candidate nominations will open on 7 September 2026 and close on 21 September 2026.

Is Voting Compulsory?

Yes. Voting is compulsory for all residents on the State Electoral Roll. Failure to vote may result in a fine. Voting remains optional for those enrolled on the General Manager’s Roll (non-resident owners/occupiers).

Am I Enrolled?

If you’re on the State Electoral Roll at an address in Waratah-Wynyard, you’re automatically enrolled for Council elections. Check your Enrolment Status on the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) Website.

If you own property or a business in Waratah-Wynyard but live elsewhere, you may still be eligible to vote, but enrolment is not automatic, you must apply to the General Manager to be added to the Roll.
