Jamie Elphinstone shares why he’s part of Council’s Accessibility Working Group (AWG)
A passionate advocate for accessibility, Jaimie is a well-known community member and radio presenter on Coast FM’s Jamie’s Jibba Jubba (Mondays & Thursdays, 9am-12pm). Having used a wheelchair for most of his life, he’s been a strong voice for positive change in our region.
Deputy Mayor Celisa Edwards believes that having Jamie on the group has been fantastic as he brings not only lived experience, but a strong public voice that’s helping drive real change.
Jamie shared with Council, “I believe that every coastal council in Australia should have adequate access for people with mobility difficulties to access beach as it should be every Australians born right to go the beach.”
