Waratah‑Wynyard Council is calling on residents, land‑owners and community groups to share their ideas on two important consultations now open until Tuesday 22 July 2025.
Draft Ballad Avenue Environment Reserve Master Plan
The draft Master Plan charts a long‑term vision for the riverside reserve bordered by Ballad Avenue, Hales Street, Wynyard Primary School and the Inglis River. It prioritises re‑wilding and habitat enhancement, explores environmental education opportunities and assesses low‑impact recreation compatible with conservation goals. Community insights will refine the plan before it is finalised later this year.

Community Wellbeing Plan 2025‑2030 Survey
Council has also released the draft Community Wellbeing Plan, a five‑year roadmap aimed at building a healthier, safer and more connected municipality. The plan is framed around themes such as physical and mental health, social connectedness, public safety, inclusion and lifelong learning, and seeks local stories and priorities to steer future actions and resourcing.
