Thousands Gather for Successful Gather & Glow Winter Activation

Council is celebrating the success of this year’s Gather & Glow event, with thousands of people filling Goldie Street on Friday evening for a vibrant winter celebration as part of the opening week of Permission to Trespass.

Despite the winter chill, the Wynyard town centre came alive with live music, entertainment, delicious food, local market stalls and extended trading from local businesses, creating a welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.

The event highlighted the strength of the local community, with families, friends and visitors coming together to enjoy an evening that celebrated Wynyard’s unique character while supporting local businesses and tourism.

During the evening, Mayor Dr Mary Duniam joined Permission to Trespass Committee Chair, Cyndia Hilliger, to thank everyone who attended and acknowledge the local businesses, stallholders, performers and volunteers whose support helped make Gather & Glow such a memorable night.

Council also extends its sincere thanks to the many local businesses, stallholders, performers, volunteers and community organisations whose enthusiasm and support helped make the event possible.

Gather & Glow reflects Council’s commitment to delivering place-based activations that strengthen community connection, encourage visitation and support economic activity within the municipality.

The celebration continues throughout July, with more events planned as part of Permission to Trespass, including the popular Moonlight Stories at Table Cape Lighthouse.
