Waratah-Wynyard Council has released the draft Community Wellbeing Plan 2025-2030, a five-year roadmap aimed at strengthening the health, safety and connectedness of people across the municipality. Community members are encouraged to review the draft and provide feedback between 24 June and 15 July 2025.
The Plan builds on the achievements of the 2019-2024 strategy and sets a clearer, more holistic direction under five strategic themes:
- Healthy & Well – initiatives that support physical, mental and social health for residents of all ages.
- Connected & Active – programs and places that bring people together, encourage volunteering and promote active lifestyles.
- Safe Families & Communities – actions to boost public safety, strengthen respectful relationships and improve emergency readiness.
- Vibrant & Inclusive – projects that celebrate diversity, reduce disadvantage and showcase local identity through arts, culture and placemaking.
- Skills for Life – efforts to expand lifelong learning, literacy, training and job-readiness so everyone can participate fully in community life.
