Council welcomes new operator for Table Cape Lighthouse tours

Council is excited to welcome the team from Day Tours Tasmania as the new operator of the Table Cape Lighthouse tours.

Day Tours Tasmania’s Craig Parsey and Lelle Buchanan also run Cape Bruny Lighthouse Tours and Bruny Island Safaris and are looking forward to adding Table Cape’s iconic lighthouse to their tourism offerings.

“We are excited to bring our passion for Tasmanian lighthouses to Table Cape,” Director Craig Parsey said.

“We have been offering guided tours at Cape Bruny since 2015 and visited almost every lighthouse tour in Australia over the past three years.”

Waratah-Wynyard Mayor Robby Walsh was looking forward to welcoming the new operators.

“Craig and Lelle have a wealth of experience when it comes to lighthouse tourism and we can’t wait to see what they have planned for our iconic lighthouse at Table Cape,” Waratah-Wynyard Mayor Robby Walsh said.

As a child, Craig lived at many lighthouse stations in Tasmania including Maatsuyker Island, Eddystone Point, Low Head and Cape Bruny, and spent some of his early childhood home schooling at Maatsuyker, Low Head and Eddystone Point.

The business owners will employ local guides, and plan to work with business operators in the Waratah-Wynyard municipality to encourage visitors from all around the state to check out their own backyards and beyond. They hope to open in mid to late October, this year.
