Council will begin works to build a new roundabout at the Raglan Street / Simpson Street intersection from Monday 12 January 2026, with works expected to continue through to May 2026.
Traffic management will change as the project progresses, so please slow down, follow all signage, and take extra care around workers.
What to expect during works
- 40 km/h speed limit on Raglan St and Simpson St
- Raglan St reduced to one lane with temporary traffic lights
- No access to Simpson St from Raglan St, with detours in place (temporary during construction, see detours below).

Detours
During construction, access to Simpson Street will be TEMPORARILY CLOSED from Raglan Street with Detours in place. Access will be restored when construction is complete.
