Temporary operator appointed at Wynyard Waste Transfer Station

MEDIA RELEASE
Tuesday, 19th May 2026

A temporary operator will manage the Wynyard Waste Transfer Station while Waratah-Wynyard Council finalises longer-term arrangements for the facility.

On 31 May, City Mission’s current management term for the Wynyard Waste Transfer Station will conclude, following Council’s public open tender process earlier this year for the ongoing operation of the facility.

Council thanks City Mission for its service in managing the transfer station and acknowledges the contribution of its staff in delivering this important community service.

Dulverton Waste Management will manage the Wynyard Waste Transfer Station from 1 June 2026 on an interim basis while Council finalises longer-term arrangements.

There will be minor operational changes to the station, with Council focused on ensuring a smooth transition to the temporary operator.

The Wynyard Waste Transfer Station will be temporarily closed on Monday 1 June 2026 to allow the transition to take place.

The station will reopen on Tuesday 2 June 2026 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
