Waratah-Wynyard Council is now accepting nominations for the 2025 Australia Day Awards, including Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Community Event of the Year. These awards celebrate individuals and events that have made outstanding contributions to the Waratah-Wynyard municipal area.
Community members are encouraged to nominate individuals who have made a significant impact during 2024 or those who have made a difference through sustained efforts over the years.
The positive impacts of community events are recognized in many ways, whether through economic growth, strengthening social connections, or improving health and wellbeing in the community.
Award recipients will be celebrated at the annual Australia Day ceremony on January 26, 2025.
“It is essential to recognise the remarkable efforts of local individuals and events that enhance the quality of life in Waratah-Wynyard. These awards are an opportunity to honour their dedication and hard work,” said Mayor Mary Duniam.
Applications close on Monday, 9 December 2024. Nominations can be submitted via the Council’s website at www.warwyn.tas.gov.au/australia-day-awards.
