Manager Works and Services

Position:

Waratah-Wynyard Council has an exciting opportunity available for a Manager Works and Services.

The Opportunity

The key function is to ensure that services provided to the community are aligned with corporate expectations as defined by service levels established by Council.  This will occur through the provision of:

  • Effective management, leadership and direction to the Works & Services department through strategic and operational planning, constructive people and performance management, continuous improvement, and actively fostering a positive and safe workplace culture which drives the overall success of the Works & Services department.
  • Effective and efficient management of project requirements, systems and resources relevant to the activity of the Works & Services department, to achieve Council’s goals and objectives including major projects, maintenance and contracts within service level and budgetary specifications.

In collaboration with the GM, EMT & SMT, lead and foster a constructive culture for the Works & Services department of a customer responsive, outcome focused, high performance team. 

Essential Knowledge and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary or equivalent qualifications in Project Management, Management, Civil Construction, Engineering or related field.
  • Current unrestricted Tasmanian driver licence.
