Waratah–Wynyard Council, in partnership with Circular Head Council, is looking for an experienced and motivated Strategic Communications Lead to drive engaging, transparent and consistent communication across both Councils.
About the Role
Based in Circular Head, this part-time role (0.8 FTE) offers an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver meaningful communications that build trust and connection within our community. You’ll take the lead in developing and implementing communication and engagement strategies, managing social and digital media platforms, and creating engaging content that promotes Council’s activities, services and corporate identity.
Working collaboratively with staff and stakeholders, you’ll ensure messages are clear, consistent, and aligned with Council’s brand and values. From media releases and newsletters to creative campaigns and corporate publications, you’ll play a key role in strengthening Council’s community presence.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in communication, marketing, or community engagement roles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in digital and social media management.
- Proficiency in design and media tools such as Adobe Suite and Canva.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- A tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing or a related field (or equivalent experience).
