The Waratah-Wynyard local government area covers 3532 sq kms bounded by Bass Strait to the north, Rocky Cape National Park to the west, the Pieman River at Corinna on the State's west coast to the south and the City of Burnie to the east. With a population of slightly fewer than 14,000 people Waratah-Wynyard is recognised for its productive dairy, vegetable, horticulture and forestry enterprises that thrive on well-watered basalt soils famous for their rich red colour. The area provides ample opportunity for people to experience lifestyles of their choice.

- disposed of 6,165 tonnes of rubbish
- administered 283 immunisation vaccinations
- provided $25,302 in Community Assistance Grants
- cared for more than 100 children per day in its Children Services programs
- issued 401 property certificates
- took 610 water sampling tests
- welcomed 23,151 tourists at the Visitor Information Centre
- had 3,625 paying customers visit the veteran car collection

- 5,633 m2 bridge decking
- 126 km water reticulation mains
- 5 town sewerage schemes
- 70 km footpaths
- 15 km walking tracks
