The 2001 Waratah-Wynyard Municipal Risk Management Project, as part of its risk treatment strategy, identified a need to inform householders of actions which they may take to contribute towards risk reduction and their personal safety in the event of a natural emergency. This information forms part of a public education program that was developed by the Emergency Management Planning Committee.
