Progress on flood damaged bridges
Two bridges damaged in the Waratah-Wynyard area during the June 2016 floods have been rebuilt.
The flood events of June 5 and 6, 2016 caused major damage to Council infrastructure in the Waratah-Wynyard area.
This included the Lapoinya Road timber bridge over the Flowerdale River, as well as stormwater infrastructure at Smarts Road, Dowlings Creek.
Construction of a new dual lane concrete bridge on Lapoinya Road is now completed, except for some additional minor roadworks at the approaches, which will be completed in the next couple of weeks.
A new dual lane concrete bridge has also been constructed on Smarts Road and will be finished after some guard rail works, which have been scheduled for completion within a couple of weeks.
