NBN rollout continues in Wynyard
The rollout of the National Broadband Network (NBN) will continue in Wynyard on Wednesday, 22 March.
Contractors will be in Wynyard from Wednesday, 22 March as the rollout of the National Broadband Network (NBN) continues in the area.
NBN have identified some areas of copper network that need to be replaced requiring additional civil works and hauling of copper cabling.
The sites identified are:
-1 to 21 Table Cape Road - on River Road and Table Cape Road;
- 29 to 127 Calder Road;
- 132 Inglis St to 16666 Bass Highway. It is anticipated the build will be on the right hand of the road/highway heading north.
In regards to the civil works for the Bass Highway site, contractors for NBN will be digging a trench on the eastern side of Inglis to install the new copper cable.
Dial Before You Dig has identified a gas main, which is also located on the eastern side of Inglis Street.
Because of the gas main some additional work is required prior to any trench work taking place.
Tas Gas the owner of the gas main require visual confirmation of the gas main at 20m intervals, meaning some sections of Inglis Street will be dug up to expose the gas main.
