Have your say on Goldie Street concept plans
Waratah-Wynyard residents are invited to provide feedback on concept plans, which have been developed for a new car park and Civic Space in the Goldie Street north precinct.
The concept plans include upgrades to the north Goldie Street precinct and include public open space, outdoor dining areas and parking provisions for cars, buses and additional accessible parking bays, as well as male, female and/or unisex accessible toilets. Copies of the concept plans are available online at yoursayor at Council’s Wynyard office and are on a display board in the Goldie Street carpark between Noah’s Takeaway and French Sticks Bakery.
“We look forward to this development and the impact it will have on relieving the parking situation in our main CBD,” Waratah-Wynyard Mayor Robby Walsh said. Mayor Walsh said he would like to see the public take part and share their views on the development.
“We have seen in the past the benefits of the community feedback process with projects like the Wynyard Foreshore Environs Masterplan and the Somerset Village Development Plan,” he said.
“We had hundreds of people providing feedback for those and all the comments we get will be taken on board.”
An information session on the concept plans will be held on Goldie Street (between Frenchsticks Bakery and Noah’s Coffee Lounge) from 4pm to 6pm on Wednesday, February 8.
In the event of rain, the information session will be held in the Council chambers at 21 Saunders Street. Feedback can be made in person at Waratah-Wynyard Council offices, 21 Saunders Street, Wynyard and in writing to the General Manager, PO Box 168, Wynyard Tasmania, 7325, via www.warwyn.tas.gov.au/yoursay, or posted onto Council’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/WaratahWynyard. Comments close at 5pm on Friday 17 February 2017.
