Port Road, Boat Harbour Beach - LANE CLOSURE
22 Spetember 2016 "RESIDENT ADVICE - PORT ROAD, BOATH HARBOUR BEACH - LANE CLOSURE
Council has made a decision to close the south bound lane of Port Road, Boat Harbour Beach following land movement uphill of the section of road which was subject to recent landslip repair.
The Council has been monitoring land movement in this section of road over recent weeks and during periods of wet weather, and have observed pavement issues which required traffic controls to ensure public safety.
One lane of traffic access has been retained and there is no load limit at this stage.
Pedestrian access will still be available through the area for those choosing to park their vehicles away from the affected and sign-posted area.
Council is in the process of consulting with our geotechnical advisors and adjoining landowners to identify viable remediation options on a priority basis. It is expected that the landslip remediation works will be completed by the end of November 2016 subject to weather conditions.
Council thanks residents and the public for their patience and cooperation and apologises for any inconvenience.
