Strategic Plan 2009-2014

Councils are required by legislation to have a Strategic Plan. The Strategic Plan is to be regularly reviewed and updated. A major requirement in the development of a Strategic Plan is that the Council canvasses the opinions and aspirations of its community.

The first Strategic Plan was adopted by Council in December 1994 and was then further reviewed in 1999 and subsequently redeveloped for 2004-2009.

Council have now developed a new Strategic Plan 2009-2014 which was managed by a consultant, with public consultation and forums. To help structure the public forums and promote productive discussion, a number of 'Issues Papers' were prepared around key locations and sectors within the Waratah-Wynyard area namely Boat Harbour Beach/Sisters Beach; Somerset, Yolla and Wynyard). 3-4 sectors/sector groupings covered specific topics for example Health, Education, Sport & Recreation.

The final Strategic Plan was adoped in late 2009 and can be viewed and downloaded below.
